May Odds & Ends

May was a busy month for us with myself needing to work parts of every weekend for rental meets and leaving me little spare time on the weekends to do blog posts.  Since I've been being harrassed by some of you blog followers on Facebook for not posting in awhile I am doing 3 posts to please you.  Now you should probably take your time looking at them...like maybe 1 a week...so that you won't be disappointed if I don't post right away with another new post.  :)

The kids are loving the new house and a yard that is easy to play in rather than being contained to a deck.  We are all loving the new area and the great features it offers, especially being closer to family and friends.  Here are some of the random pictures taken since the last time I posted and the ones that didn't fit into their own category like the other 2 blog posts I put up a little bit earlier!

Ice Cream Cones!!
Robert's not the only train lover in the family!
Playing at the park with Cooper!  Love being 5 minutes away from the Edgar family!!

Silly Robert...he's growing up way too fast for me!
Speaking of growing up...they are no longer babies!

For the past couple of weeks I've also been teaching 1 night a week in Red Wing to recertify the summer pool staff in lifeguarding and CPR.  It is fun to see the old staff, yes some of the same ones that were there when I worked there through high school and college are still there. At the same time it is sad when some of the guards I'm training were little kids in swim lessons the last time I saw them.  Anyway enough with me feeling old...  With each trip to Red Wing 1 kid has come down with me to spend quality time with Grandma.  Izzy ended up with the longest visit by staying in Red Wing for 3 days and then met us at the cabin.  Robert went down with me this week and stayed with Grandma 1 night while I had a much needed girls night out with two of my dearest friend (Abby & Sherry) and then we went home after I taught the next night.  Here are some pictures of their time in good ol' Red Wing!

Grandma bought her a baby and stroller so she wasn't bored when she visited...Spoiled much?!

At least she helps clean up, too bad it's only a toy vacuum!
Robert helping spread more dandelion seeds in G'mas yard!  You're welcome mom!!
Robert getting a much needed haircut from our friend Mike!
Cruising in his car...notice the golf club and golf balls he put in the back of the car!
Thanks Grandma Cheri for the fun memories!!!

Memorial Weekend

For Memorial Weekend we headed up to the Knautz Cabin and had a great time with my Aunt and Uncle, Grandma Cheri, and my Cousin Parker and his girlfriend Bianca.  The kids enjoyed being able to play outdoors, going out on the boat, and Robert is now an excellent fisherman!

Paul's lil helper!

Robert (well Aunt Val) caught a fish!
Surprise visitor!  He started in the backyard by the bird feeders...which added a little excitement to our morning!

I think she can see. :)

Thanks for a great weekend Paul and Val!  Hope we can get back there another time this summer!!

April Showers bring May Flowers

One of the best parts of our move to Apple Valley is being closer to Eric's family!  With Eric's schedule getting busier Mary has been able to adjust her work schedule to spend 1 day a week with the kids.  They are loving have weekly time with Grandma!  A few weekends ago, while Eric was away on a Boy's weekend and I had to work a rental meet both Grandma and Grandpa spent the morning with kids and planted flowers in one of our gardens.  Here are pictures from their time planting.  Robert is especially proud of the flowers and loves to water them...and everything else in the backyard!  Thanks for the awesome garden and great memories Mary & Larry!!

Getting rid of the weeds!

Starting the planting!

Finished project!  Now to work on the other 4 beds...

Outdoor fun!

One of the best parts about our new home is the great outdoor space.  Unfortunately the back yard is still a little too mushy and while we're trying to get some of the muddy spots to grow grass we have been avoiding that area.  Luckily unlike the old house we have other options!  Our front yard is great plus with the driveway, front walk, and sidewalk along a quiet street the kids are loving the space.  Here are some pics we've taken of them over the last month!

Taking a break from running by sitting in their own chairs!
Hmm...what trouble should I get in next?
I will keep up with him!

Two of my favorites on one of the cooler days!

And of course they still like to play indoors too.  The latest fascination is playing in our bedroom.  Here they are watching a movie on the laptop!

Caught him!
Not too sure with dad's toast making ability.
